Throughout Ron Hirsch’s varied career – as a teacher, legal aid lawyer, survey researcher, nonprofit executive, consultant, composer, author, and volunteer – he has worked to help others. A graduate of Brown University and the University of Chicago Law School, he has worked on a wide range of social policy issues over the years and seen first hand the devastating powerlessness of the poor. Ron Hirsch grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania and resides in Maine.
In addition to We Still Hold These Truths, he is the author of the blog, Preserving American Values, the author of several books on Buddhism and the blog, The Practical Buddhist, and the author of Raising a Happy Child.
